The story of Beneteau
Beneteau is a historic and renowned boat manufacturer whose story began in 1884 in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in the Vendée region of France. Founded by Benjamin Beneteau, the company showed early innovation by designing the first engine-powered fishing boat in the area in 1909. Initially focused on fishing vessels, Beneteau transitioned in the 1960s towards recreational boating, focusing on sailing yachts and motorboats. Over the decades, the company grew and expanded, becoming part of Groupe Beneteau in the 1990s.
Beneteau offers a wide range of products including small sailboats suitable for coastal cruising as well as large ocean-going yachts. Their motorboat range also caters to leisure boating and cruising enthusiasts with a variety of models. The brand has earned an international reputation, not only for its craftsmanship and innovation but also through its strong involvement in offshore racing and one-design classes like the Figaro. It has continually evolved with product innovation and maintaining a strong dealer network globally to support its customers.
