For over 70 years, Harris has set the standard in luxury pontoon craftsmanship—where timeless design meets cutting-edge innovation. Every curve, weld, and finish reflects a legacy of excellence, engineered for those who demand performance without compromise. From heritage-rich details to forward-thinking technology, Harris is more than a boat—it's a statement on the water.
Harris Manufacturing was founded in 1956 by Peter and Ernie Harris. In 1957, Harris launched the world's first pontoon boat built on an assembly line—FloteBote was born. The company patented the "Dolphin" nose cone in 1959, and in 1964 became the first pontoon brand to anodize aluminum fencing for corrosion resistance. In 1971, Harris introduced the first sterndrive-powered pontoon boats.
Through the 1980s and 1990s, Harris continued to innovate: acquiring Kayot Corporation in 1983, launching the Heritage Model with an extended deck and sun lounge in 1985, debuting the first wood-free aluminum transom and all-rotomolded furniture bases in 1987, and patenting the "Circle of Fun" layout, the HP Classic with lifting strakes, the first power bimini top, and the Total Torque Reduction (TTR) system through the 1990s.
In 2000, Harris became one of the first Marine Industry Certified manufacturers. The company won a J.D. Power award for highest customer satisfaction in 2007, and an NMMA Innovation Award for the Crowne model in 2013. In 2019, Harris was the first to launch a digital switching system with a custom GUI and CZONE integration.
By 2021, Harris had achieved zero waste to landfill and patented stainless steel safety rails with fender holders. Fiberglass styling was introduced across the Grand Mariner range in 2022, and in 2023 RPM Technology was rolled out across all models. Today, Harris offers six series of luxury pontoon boats—Crowne, Grand Mariner, Solstice, Sunliner, Cruiser, and Breeze.
