Overview
About this vessel
'Ratty' Originally 'M V Ratty' has a rich history in the Goolwa South Australia. It was used as the pilot boat escorting barges to the wharf at Goolwa from its launch in 1934. She has since had a number of owners over the years including a local couple who spared no expense in fully restoring her in 2016. This work was carried out professionally by Jetty and Timber Boat yard who restored to her former glory with respect to keeping as much of her heritage and original fittings as possible. She still has the original steering wheel, original windows, original brass port holes and the original Brass engraved bell. The cushions were re-trimmed inside and in the cockpit, the clears enclosing the cockpit were replaced and a new Mercury 15hp outboard with electric tilt was installed. The deck was replaced with marine ply and overlaid with glass so it is fair to say she remains a relatively dry boat to this day. Apart from her local history 'Ratty' has cruised extensively around Goolwa, Clayton Bay and Milang for many years always catching the eye of locals and visitors to the area. With little more that a tidy up she has years of cruising left in her, she is a beautiful boat looking for a new owner she still has so much to offer.
