It's not often something this unusual comes onto the market. Beautifully restored, this classic is a true head-turner with gleaming chrome aluminium protected by multiple wax coatings. Fitted with a brand-new 30hp Tohatsu engine and new galvanised trailer, she's ready to go. Stunning upholstery, solid mahogany woodwork, stainless steel footrests, and polished bronze fittings complete this exceptional craft.
Introducing the vintage aluminum SARO TERRAPIN Speedboat
Built by the renowned WWII aircraft builders SAUNDERS & ROE, a collaboration of like-minded aircraft manufacturers of Saunders with Avro (infamous for building the Lancaster bombers).
After the war these fine speedboats were constructed in the same manner utilizing their experience in building aircraft.
At 15 feet overall, the Saro Terrapin is a light, fast and elegant speedboat seating four persons comfortably, and in this case, coupled with a brand new 30 hp Tohatsu outboard engine, enabling the boat to be propelled to 30 knots plus. All of which sits on a brand new galvanized trailer with lighting board.
This particular boat has been lovingly restored, incorporating modern materials whilst celebrating the expertise that was our aircraft industry during the war years, and for that matter, thereafter.

Comfortable seating for four. Two upfront and two further passenger seating behind.
Solid mahogany woodwork impregnated with epoxy resins and multiple two-pack polyurethane varnish coatings to a high gloss, stainless steel foot rests and steps, chromed bronze fittings. Polished aluminum surfaces protected by multiple ceramic wax coatings for longevity (all that is needed, would be a wash n wax after use). Age related marks as you would expect from a 67 year old boat.
A brand new 30 hp Tohatsu outboard fitted with electric start and remote controls. Outboard manufacturers 7 year warranty to be registered for purchaser. Remote fuel tank and line included.
A purpose made galvanized trailer with lighting board.

There is the option to purchase a second Saro Terrapin also beautifully restored and will come with the boat's original engine, a restored 1960 35hp mercury outboard that would look great at shows and events.
