LA FENICE Yacht for Sale
Overview
About this vessel
LA FENICE is a 95-foot masterpiece and a symbol of yachting heritage and a marvel of engineering and design. Originally commissioned in 1962 by financier Anthony Boyden, she was built by Richard Ironworks and designed by Laurent Giles Naval Architects to support Sovereign, Boyden's 12-meter challenger in the 1964 America's Cup. The brief was simple: a comfortable and seaworthy craft capable of crossing the Atlantic and sailing to Australia under her own power.
LA FENICE joined the French Navy as a training ship in the mid-1980s, before being acquired in 2001 by renowned photographer Peter Lindbergh. A significant refit followed, with Christian Liaigre lending his design expertise from 2005 to 2016. His vision, particularly evident in the 2015/2016 refit, masterfully blended modern style with classic appeal, featuring dark wood floors, elegant paneling, and leather accents. The open-plan layout creates a light and airy atmosphere, seamlessly connecting the yacht's interior spaces.
