Overview
About this vessel
Very little is known historically prior to 2006 except that she was built in the early 1960's in Maryborough Qld. In 2006 she was slipped for over a year to be fully refurbished in the Redlands area by shipwright Terry Crisp. She was stripped back to bare timbers throughout, replacing timber planking where required and an entire new deck and saloon was constructed in marine ply then the entire exterior of the vessel was sheathed with multiple layers of 600gms fibreglass and epoxy resin. Recently she's had maintenance on her prop shaft, stern tube, a new PSS gland fitted, rudder and steering checked.
Island Girl offers a spacious open plan interior with plenty of natural light and ventilation whilst offering a solid rear deck cover and good awnings. A compact galley, enclosed heads - no holding tank but there is also a port-a-potty for compliance and an interior shower. Plenty of new electronics and water heater, LED lighting and a 55hp Yanmar in superb condition. Nimble and easy to handle she cruises comfortably at 7 knots and can get to up 12 knots at a pinch. Her current owner is relocating and unfortunately has to leave her behind.
