Overview

About this vessel

Built by Feadship in 1969 at the De Vries yard in Aalsmeer, SULTANA was part of the collaboration between Feadship and Carlo Riva that produced the Caravelle Series. She was originally delivered as Din Dina to her Italian owners and reflects the practical blend of Dutch build quality and Italian design that defined that era.

In 2012, SULTANA underwent a full rebuild at the Feadship yard in Makkum, carried out by the shipyard's refit division. The project focused on retaining her original character while upgrading all systems and interiors to modern standards. Her Gardner main engines were completely rebuilt and a new power generation and battery system was installed to allow silent overnight operation and improve fuel efficiency.

Following a change of ownership in 2021, SULTANA received another significant refit at Monaco Marine in Beaulieu-Sur-Mer. The work focused on both technical and aesthetic upgrades, including new teak on the sundeck, a full repaint, generator replacement, rebuilt engines, new lithium batteries and a completely reconfigured interior. Her galley was enclosed for better functionality, a dedicated laundry was added and the bridge area was redesigned to include a crew mess and private access to the owner's suite. All AV systems were upgraded with a Starlink connection, ensuring good connectivity.

Powered by Gardner engines, SULTANA is exceptionally fuel-efficient, consuming only around 33 liters per hour with a range of approximately 2,500 nautical miles. Her battery bank allows up to 12 hours of silent autonomy, which is a rare feature among classic yachts of her era.

SULTANA's exterior reflects her original Feadship lines, with her canoe stern, flared bow and balanced superstructure The aft deck, shaded by the extended top deck, includes a built-in U-shaped settee and an extendable varnished teak table.

The upper deck is arranged for practical day use. A large sunbed is positioned aft for lounging, while the central area includes sofas with a coffee table. Forward, above the wheelhouse, there is an additional sunbathing area. The chimney structure contains a fridge and a wet point with hot and cold water and can also be used as a shower. High-tension shade sails cover the area when needed, supported by poles with integrated LED lighting for use at night. The foredeck is dedicated to tender storage, keeping handling and launch operations straightforward.

SULTANA's interior was reconfigured during her refit at Monaco Marine to create a practical, comfortable layout that separates guest and crew areas. Finished in walnut with light upholstery and cream carpets, it keeps a classic look with a modern feel. The main salon is entered through an automatic teak door and includes an L-shaped sofa to port, a full-length cabinet with a pop-up TV, icemaker and drinks fridge to starboard. A glass floor panel in the salon reveals the restored Gardner engines below, a subtle feature that connects the space to the yacht's heritage.

Forward access leads to the galley and bridge, both redesigned for functionality. The galley includes new appliances, built-in fridge freezers and large worktops, while the bridge can be reached via two Dutch doors to the main deck and doubles as a crew mess with seating for up to eight. All navigation equipment can be lowered out of view, retaining the original steering wheel, engine controls and compass.

Accommodation is for six guests in three cabins, including a forward master with queen bed, desk, settee, walk-in wardrobe and a rebuilt ensuite with a bath, separate rain shower and toilet. The VIP cabin is aft on the lower deck, and a further guest cabin midships can also serve as a dayhead. All bathrooms were refitted with new fittings and stone surfaces, and there is a dedicated laundry room to port. Crew quarters, accessed through the foredeck doghouse, include two cabins for four with shared facilities and storage.

Following her complete rebuild and recent technical refits, SULTANA is presented in excellent condition and ready for immediate use. She combines the appeal of a classic Feadship with the practicality of a modern yacht, offering low fuel consumption, quiet operation and simple, reliable systems suited for regular cruising.
