About this vessel
'Kyleina' is a fine example of the John Butler designed Westerly Cirrus. This pocket cruiser was introduced in 1968 and she proved so popular as a capable entry level cruiser that 398 were built in the 5 years she was in production. Her fin keel, inboard engine, 4 berths and turn of speed made her an ideal family cruiser. Currently ashore on her trailer, she has a pristine suit of Crusader sails, new batteries and new forestay. You will be hard pressed to find a better vessel for the money.
Vessel is powered by a 10hp Inboard Volvo Penta MD 2000 diesel engine. This single cylinder workhorse has only completed 200 hours since the engine was installed. Most recent service was in May 2024. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless steel shaft and 2-bladed fixed propeller. Single engine lever control with forward and reverse gearing.
Vessel has 2, brand NEW 12V batteries fitted providing engine start and domestic power. These are recharged via the engine alternator.
Bermudan sloop rigged yacht with deck stepped aluminium mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging with new forestay in 2024. Terylene running rigging in an as new condition. Selden 100S roller furling system. Sails include a Crusader main and Genoa from 2001. These are new and never been out of the bags.
Surprisingly spacious for her 22 foot length. Interior is accessed from the cockpit via a sliding hatch and washboard combination. There are 4 berths with a double in the forepeak, a quarter berth on the port side and a long single to starboard made possible by dropping the dining table. Small galley to port featuring a gas fuelled Plastimo Neptune 2500 2-burner hob with grill, sink unit with hand pumped water and storage. Comfortable upholstery covered in red velour. Bright interior with headlining removed and surface painted. Toilet compartment with marine toilet.
GRP constructed yacht with fin keel. Cockpit with storage lockers and varnished wooden tiller steering. White topsides with blue cove line striping. Hull to deck join finished in teak strip. Stainless steel stern and bow rails joined by stanchions and single set of guard wires. Hull antifouled in black coatings.
