Bluey Williams Sloop

Commissioned by her first owner to be a generously accommodating cruiser / racer, Bluey Williams produced the delightful "Skirmish" with Queensland Hoop Pine over Crow's Ash frames and finished with Wild Grain Maple, Teak and Beech. Her spacious, comfortable design also incorporated some innovative concepts for her day, including a 'spur' to the trailing edge of her keel to help reduce drag, and a keel set, trim tab. As such she has, for over fifty years, proven to be a formidable competitor.

Her recent owner of nearly 10 years has consistently both cruised and raced her, and has lovingly maintained her to where she still presents beautifully inside and out. In 2019 she was slipped and stripped back to bare timbers, allowed to dry out and had her hull sheathed in fibreglass from the water line down providing a considerable maintenance advantage. She comes with a very reliable 18hp Volvo Penta, and an excellent sail wardrobe, modern touch screen plotter, tiller pilot and sleeps up to six people.
