Carolina National 27

Rare Breed is a 27 National built in 1973 that was stripped down and underwent a full refit/rebuild in 2023. She is powered with a single D6-370 Volvo with ZF Transmission, cruising at 28kt burning only 13gph. The boat features a full Garmin electronics package, Rodan trolling motor with lithium power bank, and much more.

She was rebuilt with 100% composite materials guaranteeing no future rot. During this refit, the owner had insight from several well-known North Carolina boat builders such as Paul Mann and others on ideas and processes. This is a very unique and efficient boat for bottom fishing or a day in the stream bill fishing. She currently does not have bottom paint and was built with trailering in mind, keeping her under 14'6" on a trailer and DOT ready.
