About this vessel
A proven offshore cruiser with an impressive history, Distant Star is a 1974 Fraser 42 built by the Dekleer Brothers in Richmond, BC. Known for their capable design and seaworthiness, these boats have carried sailors across oceans with confidence.
Previously used as a weather boat for the Vic-Maui race and more recently sailed by a family of five on a year-long voyage from Vancouver to Mexico and back in 2024/25, Distant Star has benefited from significant recent upgrades. The cutter rig, solid construction, and practical layout make it a reliable and comfortable choice for coastal cruising or extended offshore passages.
Currently moored in Ladysmith, BC, the vessel comes with a 55-foot slip that may be transferable.
