Step aboard TUVALU - Moody 33 MKII Centre Cockpit. - Price Reduced. A well proven and very capable cruising yacht, renowned for its solid construction, practical layout, and offshore pedigree. Designed by Angus Primrose and built by Marine Projects in Plymouth, the Mk2 version of the Moody 33 builds on the success of the original with a refined interior layout, improved helm position, and enhanced sailing performance – making it a favourite among serious sailors and liveaboard cruisers alike. This particular example has been significantly upgraded with a reliable Yanmar 3JH2E diesel engine and matching Yanmar SD31 sail-drive, offering exceptional efficiency, smooth operation, and trusted global support – a vital consideration for long-distance voyaging. These upgrades greatly enhance the yacht's capability for extended, self-sufficient cruising in remote areas. With her proven centre cockpit design, the Moody 33 Mk2 offers excellent protection at sea, a secure helm position with fixed screens, and a spacious aft cabin – features often found only in larger yachts. Her robust GRP hull, well-balanced sail plan, and thoughtfully designed deck layout make her equally suited to coastal cruising or serious blue-water passages.

Forward V-berth Accommodation for two adults with anchor chain storage beneath port side and large storage area starboard side with additional storage above the sleeping area, has its own opening hatch window. 12v lighting.
Saloon: Bench seating for 7 which can be used as two single beds or the starboard side can be converted to a good sized double bed using cushions from the port side (additional cushions may be desirable to replace ones used from port side). Central table with two drop down leaves and central drinks storage can sit six or seven people. Chart table to aft of saloon with VHF and electrical switches above. Ample under seat storage and also a black waste tank (which was never used by myself, integrity unknown but probably ok) and macerator to drain waste tank. Manual and electric bilge pumps below cooker for emptying central bilge area and engine area. House battery compartment and switching. Large bookshelf to starboard, good storage and drinks cabinet to port. Access hatch for front of engine
Galley Recently updated sink and taps and cooker. Fridge runs off 12v or mains, gas cooker has two hob burner, grill and oven and gas detector below.
Heads: recently updated in a brushed aluminium finish with modern sink, taps, lighting and shower mixer. Jabsco hand operated toilet (recently serviced) drains through hull or to waste tank. Shower drains to a sump in bathroom floor which is emptied though hull via an electric pump. Storage and third house battery under sink. Manual bilge pump at rear of heads for forward bilge area.
Cockpit: U-shaped seating around wheel and digital compass binnacle. Storage on port side has gas bottle compartment which drains through hull, good storage and the 100 litre fuel tank below. Starboard cockpit storage has the diesel heater and room for ten large fenders and 150 litre water tank below. Cockpit has permanent glass windows surrounding the front of the cockpit with a connecting canvas roof which completely encloses the cockpit. Access to engine. Companion ways to both saloon and aft cabin.
Aft cabin: has two large single beds with storage below and above bed area and access to the rear of the engine via a hatch and access to the steering quadrant.

She recently underwent considerable modernisation and mechanical servicing which includes: March 2025: hull antifouled, above waterline sympathetically sanded and polished, cockpit windows painted, winches greased. Sacrificial anode and its through-hole fixings replaced and all cabling re-terminated. "Eberspacher" style heater fitted. February 2025: all three engine mounts, inner and outer sail drive diaphragms, all sail drive oil seals and all engine oil seals were replaced. Engine service performed including coolant change, oil filter and oil change. Saildrive oil and anode changed. Steering greased During this time, a metal elbow for the sea water cooling was damaged but replaced with a non-Yanmar elbow which has proved completely reliable. 2024: engine serviced, steering greased heads updated with new brushed aluminium effect interior and new sink, taps and shower mixer fitted. All woodwork including floors sanded and varnished. All other interior surfaces painted with appropriate paints. Bluetooth amplifier and speaker fitted. 2023: engine serviced. Steering greased. Kitchen sink and taps replaced , retrimmed in brushed aluminium effect, cooker refreshed. Water leak from the davit through hole - the wooden plinths that the davits sit on were replaced and the area sealed and checked for ingress.
