Freja is an exceptionally refit and beautifully maintained Tayana 37 Cutter, offered for sale by her knowledgeable owner after eight years of care, sailing, and steady improvement. Over half that time was spent living aboard and voyaging up and down the West Coast. The owner spared no expense in rebuilding and upgrading this vessel from stem to stern, drawing on the wisdom of the great bluewater sailors - Pardey, Moitessier, Bob Griffith - and the local craftspeople who know these boats best.

Freja represents the ideal Tayana 37: strong, seaworthy, simple to maintain, and elegantly outfitted for self-reliant cruising. With a comprehensive refit completed between 2016 - 2023, she is a turnkey cutter ready for her next ocean passage.

A major 8-year refit has addressed all known Tayana 37 issues - chainplates, fuel tank, scuppers, and deck core among them. Extensive upgrades to rig, hull, systems, and interior include new sails, standing rigging, running rigging, and titanium chainplates. The rudder has been rebuilt, the drivetrain repowered, and a new fuel tank installed. Electrical and plumbing systems have been modernized to ABYC compliance. The vessel features a custom hard dodger, tanbark sail plan, and Monitor windvane steering.

The owner has lived aboard Freja for four years and sailed her extensively along the coast. Every system has been renewed with an emphasis on durability, simplicity, and ocean readiness. Freja is equipped for extended offshore cruising, self-sufficiency, and comfort.
