About this vessel
The Bruce Roberts 44 design was a very successful model, designed as a fast cruising yacht with longish overhangs and a gentle, sweeping sheer. WINDARRA is the centre cockpit ketch design giving a protected cockpit and an easy sail plan to manage. The yacht had an extensive refit in 2018, including a new engine and new genset, and was set up as a truly self-sufficient cruising yacht. She has a three-quarter length keel and lead ballast, skeg-hung rudder.
WINDARRA offers a spacious, well-lit accommodation layout with standing height throughout. The saloon has a dinnette to port and settee to starboard. Forward is a full bathroom with half bath and head, opposite a large hanging cupboard and set of drawers. The forward berth has a small seating area to starboard and significant storage underneath. Aft is a spacious galley with navigation table opposite, followed by a full-size quarter berth. The aft cabin has one very large double bed, with head and sink on the port side and storage throughout.
The spacious galley has a single sink with pressurised hot and cold water and a salt-water tap with foot pump. There is a Force 10, 3-burner stove with oven and ample storage. One shower is in the forward bathroom and a cold wash shower on deck. The forward head has an electric WHALE pump with holding tank; the aft head has a JABSCO macerator pump.
The yacht is set up for 12V and 110V with a VICTRON system, including a VICTRON Isolation transformer that converts 240V shore power to 110V. 400W solar panels are fitted with MPPT solar controllers. The 4.5kW NORTHERN LIGHTS generator has 1335 hours on it.
Deck-stepped main and mizzen masts with all standing rigging new in 2023 and chainplates new in 2018. Running rigging is in excellent condition and has been routinely replaced as required. Excellent stainless steel davits were designed and installed by a naval architect. Transom-mounted swim ladder with mini platform and grab rails.
