Islander Peterson 40
Overview
About this vessel
PRO RE NATA, designed by world famous Americas Cup Design winner Doug Peterson, the Islander "IP" Racer/Cruiser has been well maintained to a very high standard. Doug Peterson did a nice job of designing the hull and rig that would both sail well, and have a usable and livable interior, either living aboard, or spending extended periods of time cruising or racing in local beer cans and PHRF fun races.
The hull is constructed with multiple layers of fiberglass matt and roving saturated with resin, with cored FRP decks featuring molded nonskid. The cabin sole is teak and holly floorboards. The dual spreader masthead sloop rig is made of 6061 series anodized, extruded aluminum and is stepped at the keel, with standing rigging of Nitronic 50 rod and robust stainless steel chain plates.
