Carbineer 46 Pilothouse Ketch

The Laurent Giles designed Carbineer 46 Pilot House cruising ketches have a well deserved reputation as excellent blue-water passage makers. They offer spacious accommodation with three cabins plus the roomy pilot house and a high degree of comfort together with excellent sailing qualities. Their moderate draft allows easy access to most ports and harbours while the easily managed ketch rigged sail plan with furling genoa and furling staysail plus large winches allows for easy handling. Dual steering stations provide a choice of outdoor or all weather protected sailing. A Sidepower bow thruster enables easy manoeuvring in even the tightest marina spaces.

This 1980 built Carbineer 46 has already sailed around the world and is very well set up for extended coastal or offshore sailing. She was re-engined in 2016 and her 120 HP John Deere diesel engine has run just 600 hours since then. She is electrically powered via a 2017 installed Onan Cummins 7KVA generator. Her galley and hot water system is all-electric with no gas on board. Her spacious, well lit and well laid out engine room will delight any owner with multiple fuel and water filtration systems in place. She has long range fuel and water tankage plus a Spectra watermaker so she is self sufficient at sea. There are many spares, service parts and tools included with this well thought out offshore cruising yacht.

Her electronics were upgraded in 2016 with Brookes and Gatehouse Vulcan 12 GPS-Plotters and B & G Autopilot controls at both helm stations, plus 16nm Radar, AIS, Electronic charting, HF and VHF radio transceivers.

Her safety equipment includes life jackets, a life sling, two life rings, EPIRB and an RFD 6 Pax life raft. A 2.2m inflatable dinghy with a 6HP Yamaha outboard is carried in stern davits with Harken winches for launch and retrieval. A stainless steel transom ladder affords easy access to the dinghy.
