Overview
About this vessel
“Mickey” is a 1981 Corbin 39, a proven Canadian-built bluewater cruiser designed for serious offshore sailing. Renowned for her Airex foam core construction, encapsulated lead keel, and cutter rig, this model has long been respected among long-range cruisers for its strength, safety, and ocean-going capability.
Following a substantial 0,000+ refit completed in 2024 025, Mickey is presented in excellent, turn-key condition, ready for immediate cruising, whether coastal exploration around Langkawi and Phuket or extended offshore passages.
The Corbin 39 is built for offshore reliability: Fibreglass hull with Airex foam core, full encapsulated lead keel, cutter rig (deck-stepped mast, repainted 2025), Wagner hydraulic & Hydrovane self-steering. Her flush decks, high freeboard, and deep secure cockpit make her particularly suited to passagemaking and liveaboard comfort.
Mickey offers a spacious and practical interior layout, uncommon for a yacht of her size: 2 double cabins, 1 bathroom (forward, fully upgraded 2025), large saloon with excellent handholds for offshore safety, solid wood interior, freshly refinished with new upholstery throughout. The result is a warm, comfortable, and highly functional liveaboard environment, ideal for extended cruising.
Galley & Domestic Systems include FORCE 10 oven, large heavily insulated 12V fridge (new compressor & plate 2025), pressurised freshwater + manual saltwater tap, PUR Katadyn 40E watermaker, new shower stall & electric Jabsco head (2025).
Electronics & Navigation (Upgraded 2025) include Raymarine Axiom chartplotter, Raymarine autopilot, Raymarine wind & tridata instruments, AIS Class B transponder (2024), fixed VHF radio, Ritchie compass.
Electrical & Energy systems include 12V DC / 220V AC systems, new house & engine batteries (2026), solar charging system (2026), Xantrex battery charger (2025), 12V 20V inverter, two electric bilge pumps.
Engine & Propulsion: Ford Lehman 2712E diesel (80hp), fully serviced with new ancillaries, direct drive with 3-blade bronze propeller, new shaft & cutlass bearings. A highly regarded engine choice for reliability and simplicity, ideal for long-distance cruising.
Sail Inventory: new mainsail (2026), furling genoa & staysail (Profurl systems), spinnaker, storm sail, spare headsails.
Deck & Equipment: refurbished Muir Cougar electric windlass (2025), dual Bruce anchors + Fortress FX-27, new chain (2025), stainless stern arch with solar panels, Andersen winches + full deck hardware, Dickinson BBQ, sprayhood & bimini (new).
Tender & Toys: 2.5m aluminium RIB (2024), 5hp Mercury outboard (2025, <10 hours), kayak with paddles.
Tankage: fresh water: 3 460L, fuel: 2 440L, holding tank: 90L.
This is not a project boat, the hard work has already been done. With her recent comprehensive refit, proven offshore pedigree, and full cruising inventory, Mickey represents outstanding value for liveaboard sailors, bluewater cruisers, and buyers seeking a capable, affordable long-range yacht. Currently berthed in Langkawi, she is perfectly positioned for exploring the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and beyond.
