Peterson 48

This Doug Peterson 48 "Y Knot" is a proven blue water cruiser. There were four Peterson 48s designed by Doug Peterson and built by Dennis Choate. The other 3 are still actively being sailed in Southern California. This is a vessel designed by one of the top naval architects and built by one of the best fiberglassers in the United States. Although Peterson passed a few years ago, Choate is still glassing surfboards to this day.

The Y Knot has an open deck layout and a roomy interior with lots of headroom. There are lots of berths below with a centrally located galley. She is very stout with a thick fiberglass layup, a large steering wheel and rod rigging. The air conditioning helps to keep her cool in those hot summer days.
