1983 Farr 1104 for sale in DSS Marina, Sandy Bay
Overview
About this vessel
This legendary Farr 1104 has been the seller's pride and joy for the last 15+ years. With hundreds of hours of love and upgrades poured into her by an owner who is a shipwright, she is a proven safe yacht optimized for club racing and offshore sailing.
This 1983 Farr 1104 "Rumbeat" has been raced and cruised out of Hobart over the past 15+ years after being purchased from Sandringham Yacht Club (VIC).
Designed by Bruce Farr, these boats were ahead of their time. Piccolo famously won the 1976 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and many other Farr 1104s have done very well in the "Great" race since.
"Rumbeat" is a very competitive offshore racer as well as club and harbour racing yacht, having competed in many Launceston to Hobart and Melbourne to Hobart yacht races.
She was upgraded to meet Cat 2 for the 2022 Melbourne to Hobart yacht race and was weighed and measured with updated certificates at that time. She has current certificates on AMS, IRC and ORC and has consistently delivered results across all three categories.
"Rumbeat" is also a comfortable cruising yacht. She has an enclosed head, lazy jacks, furling headsail, electric anchor winch, plenty of accommodation, gas stove and cooktops, and autopilot.
She has recently been slipped and antifouled, with anodes replaced and propeller and shaft serviced in readiness for another summer sailing season. "Rumbeat" is very strongly built and reinforced for cruising and racing by the current owner. She is ready for you to top up the tanks, stow your gear on board and go cruising or racing.
