Overview
About this vessel
"Barbarosa" is a Randell 48 with an incredible pedigree and a long, respected commercial history. Built tough and proven in Australian waters, she has served multiple commercial roles over the years and now presents as a private vessel with outstanding potential — whether for restoration, liveaboard use, or a return to commercial operation.
Currently lying in Port Pirie, South Australia, "Barbarosa" began her life as a hardworking prawning and cray boat, registered in Queensland under multiple commercial survey categories: Class 1C, 1D, 2B, and 2C. She later moved to New South Wales, where she operated successfully as a Sydney charter vessel carrying up to 24 passengers, before making her way to South Australia in approximately 2019 to work as a professional fishing charter prior to the state's snapper fishing ban.
Condition & Recent Work
While she would benefit from some refurbishment to return her to former glory, much of the work appears to be cosmetic rather than structural. Overall, she presents as a solid, well-laid-out vessel with excellent potential for domestic cruising, liveaboard conversion, or refit back into survey.
Importantly, she has recently had a complete new fire suppression system installed — a significant investment that adds both value and safety.
