About this vessel
RENDEZVOUS was originally delivered to a sailing school and charter fleet in St. Martins in the Caribbean Leward Islands, and was sailed in the Lesser Antilles and other Caribbean island chains until 2002 when it was brought to the West Coast of Florida. It was moved to San Francisco Bay in 2012. Ready now for her next adventure.
The Gib'Sea 126 is a very spacious 44' 8" cruising yacht, renowned for its design quality and robustness. Graceful under sail, comfortable and easy to handle, the design was awarded a Cruising Sailboat of the Year award when introduced. Rendezvous was built in France by Gilbert Marine, which was bought in 1997 by world famous DuFour Yachts. It was designed by Oliver Poncin with offshore seas in mind. This yacht is perfect for sailing on the strong winds of San Francisco Bay, her current home port, or overnights on the coast, and especially for long distance blue water cruising.
There are 2 queen quarter berths aft and 2 sets of sea bunks forward, providing sleeping berths for 8, without even using the settees. This is the perfect yacht for inviting friends or even two families to stay on board over a long weekend, or a longer voyage.
Accommodations
Upon entering the companion way you will see the large navigation station to port and the open galley to starboard. The salon has two fixed tables on either side, providing plenty of room for entertaining. Large salon windows fill the living areas with natural light. There are plenty of handholds to make passages easy and safer when the seas kick up or you are heeling over.
The navigation station has a large desk with hinged lid, with substantial storage room underneath and outboard. In addition to the electrical panels the nav station has the VHF radio, SSB radio, and stereo controls, as well as a Garmin GPS and radar display.
Both quarter berths contain a hanging locker, concealed sink under the counter, and mirror above. The head with composting toilet is immediately aft of the navigation station.
The salon has a large dining table on starboard and a smaller breakfast table on port. The port table can be lowered to the level of the settee, turning it into a generous sea berth. Behind the settees are fixed ports high and low, open shelf, and enclosed storage cabinets.
Forward of the salon are two cabins with double bunks each, sharing a Jack-and-Jill wash stand forward. The forward cabins can be individually closed off from the salon and each other. Each cabin has a large hanging locker. All four bunks have lee cloths; the upper bunks have access to individual storage compartments. The wash area has a medicine cabinet, mirror, and opening overhead hatch. These cabins are perfect for kids or crew while allowing the main cabins privacy in the stern.
Galley
Rendezvous is equipped with a large L-shaped galley to starboard of the companionway and open to the salon. There is plenty of counter space for entertaining and preparing food. Starting inboard there is a generous wide counter, with voluminous storage beneath, including up to three wire baskets for stores. Moving further outboard is a double sink with additional storage underneath. On the outboard side are a two burner Eno gimbaled stove and oven. Outboard of the stove there is a large icebox. Finally aft of the stove is additional counter surface and a top-opening refrigerator. Above the stove and icebox are two double door cabinets.
Deck
The deep cockpit is a safe and comfortable place whether driving the boat in a gale or resting in a placid anchorage. The large wrap around sitting area provides plenty of room for entertaining complete with a fold up expandable table.
