1986 Nordic Tugs 26 for sale in North Saanich, BC
Overview
About this vessel
This 26' Nordic Tug Pilothouse is a classic Pacific Northwest favourite. This model is known as the "Cricket", of which there were about 20 produced. The hull is identical to the well-known 26' Tug with the aft cabin. The forward cabin, head, and main cabin are the same in both models, however, the "Cricket" has a great cockpit/work deck instead of the aft cabin. This is a great little tugboat for gunkholing or fishing. She doubles up as a workboat with her big aft deck.
The boat features a low-maintenance and robust quality build. The construction is all fiberglass with synthetic foam coring, with no wood to rot or cause issues. The pilothouse is fully enclosed with excellent visibility. She has a good turn of speed for a boat of this style with a 100 horsepower Yanmar diesel that sips fuel. Wide open throttle reaches about 14 knots, and she cruises comfortably all day at 10 to 12 knots with extremely low fuel burn at 6 to 8 knots.
The boat is equipped with hydraulic steering and features a straight shaft drive with a 4-blade dyna-quad propeller and dripless shaft seal. She has a manual anchor winch and includes a swim platform with swim/overboard ladder. The enormous aft deck is about 9 feet wide by 11 feet long with a partial canvas cover, making it ideal for work purposes.
Accommodation includes a V-berth in the forward cabin and an enclosed head with shower. The galley has a hot water tank with pressurized hot and cold water. The boat is equipped with an Espar forced air furnace and a bus heater from engine coolant to keep the boat warm and dry for winter use. Original Nordic Tug manual and equipment operating manuals are included along with complete maintenance, service, and parts manuals for the engine.
