About this vessel
There are currently well over 700 of this design in use worldwide, several in the charter business. It has proven to be a fast comfortable boat and there are many, many more being built in either multi chine and radius chine steel or aluminium, round bilge fibreglass and wood epoxy. The boat can be built with either a Cutter or Ketch rig, with personal preference dictating the builders choice as she performs well under all rigs.
'Wind Torque' is a cutter rigged fixed keel with four cabins, shaft drive and a centre cockpit with a hard semi enclosed Doger. Built professionally with long distance cruising in mind this beautiful Roberts 53 is a very capable and functional yacht. She features ample head room throughout, lots of storage, a decent sized galley, four cabins and two heads, she has a a large centre cockpit with lines leading here for short handed and safe sailing, she features an electric winch and a leisure furl in boom furling system for the main sail.
Presenting in great condition for her age with modern electronics, a Perkins diesel main with a Kubota Genset she offers off grid sailing and perfect potential live aboard. A recent survey can be made available upon request.
The Perkins engine is new with only 3-5 hours use as is the Kubota Genset with only 24 hours use, she hold a staggering amount of water estimated to be approximately 3000 litres and an estimated 1200 litres of diesel in two separate tanks.
