Designed by Ray Hunt and built to eat up a chop, the Bertram 28 is one of the most respected offshore hulls ever made -- and this one is sitting on a marina berth in Townsville, right on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef, Magnetic Island and some of the best blue-water and estuary fishing in the country.

Set up for the family AND the fishos. Up top, the flybridge gives the skipper a commanding view and the kids the best seats in the house on the run out to the reef. Down below, she's a proper little liveaboard-capable cruiser: a comfortable V-berth forward, a convertible dinette, warm timber joinery throughout, a galley area and an enclosed head with electric toilet and sink -- everything you need for weekends away at Maggie or overnighters on the reef.

Out the back, she means business. A big self-draining cockpit, fold-away deck chairs and table for the family, a full stainless rocket-launcher rod rack, boarding ladder and swim platform.
