Beneteau First 32s5

Designed as a classic cruiser-racer, the First 32s5 combines competitive performance and off-shore capabilities with light spacious interior accommodation for comfortable family cruising. 'Olketa' has been in the same ownership for the past 26 years and has benefitted from extensive updates and improvements over the years.

Hull & Construction: White GRP hull with style stripes, epoxied in 1994 as a preventative measure. White GRP coachroof with moulded no-slip side decks. Cast iron wing keel and tiller steering to balanced rudder.

Accommodation: Light teak and veneer used throughout with fitted blinds to all hatches. Forward cabin features a V-berth with infill to create a large double bed, 2 hanging cupboards, storage lockers and deck hatch. Aft cabin has a large double berth, hanging wardrobe, lockers and 2 opening hatches. Saloon features 2 bench seats/berths, adjustable table with bottle storage, storage lockers, clock and barometer, brass oil lamp, and navigation station with deck hatch. Galley includes a double sink with hot and cold tap, fridge, gas cooker with 2 burners, oven and grill (renewed 2016 with all gas fittings), and in-line water filter. Heads with hot and cold water to basin and shower, Jabsco manual flush toilet (new 2016), wet hanging space and opening hatch. Eberspacher warm air heating and LED lights throughout.

Sails & Spars: Fractional rigged Bermudan sloop with double aft-swept spreaders. Aluminium keel stepped mast, aluminium boom and spinnaker pole. Stainless steel rod rigging (new 2015) with backstay tensioner. Roller reefing headsail system and terylene running rigging including spinnaker sheets and guys. 12 jammers on coachroof. Mainsail is Hood Vectron with slab reefing, 3 reef points and 4 battens (new 2010), with lazyjacks (new 2025) and packaway sail cover (new 2015). Headsail is Hood Vectron (new 2007). Includes 2 spinnakers (light and heavy), storm jib, spare mainsail and headsail. Mainsail and headsail are laundered, checked and repaired annually by Kemp Sails.

Deck Equipment: Anchorman manual anchor windlass with Lewmar Delta anchor (new 2015) and 20 metres galvanised chain (new 2023) and warp. Fortress anchor (new 2015) with warp. Sprayhood (new 2019), solar panel (new 2011), Fusion Marine speakers (new 2018). 2 Lewmar 40 genoa sheet winches and 2 Lewmar 24 halyard winches. Spacious cockpit with gas locker and large lazarette locker with storage for fenders, warps, dinghy, outboard engine and liferaft. Cockpit table, boat hook, 3 rung folding ladder. Zodiac Cadet dinghy (new 2019). Brizo hull cleaner and hanging anode.

Navigation & Electronics: NASA Marine VHF, Plastimo Contest bulkhead mounted compass, Tacktick wind system, log/speed/depth sounder, Autohelm 2000 tillerpilot, Garmin colour chart plotter (new 2003) and AIS.

Engine & Power: Volvo Penta 2003 diesel engine with reduction gearbox to shaft drive and 2 bladed propeller. Single lever engine controls with rev counter, fuel gauge and engine hour meter. Cutlass bearings replaced 2026. 2 x 12V domestic batteries (new 2021), 1 x Odyssey micro start battery (new 2015). Victron battery monitor (new 2013). Batteries charged via engine alternator and battery charger with 240V shore power connection.

Safety Equipment: 2 fire extinguishers, fire blanket, manual bilge pump, electric bilge pump, webbing jackstays, liferaft Charter 4V (new 2016), horseshoe buoy, danbuoy, Life Sling (MOB recovery), gas alarm, EPIRB, anchor ball and triangle. Marine gas safety inspection carried out 2015.
