Inkwindi is a beautiful sailing yacht, designed by the renowned John Lidgard and built with classic Tasmanian care and quality.
She is constructed in cold moulded, double diagonal King Billy Pine, with white (Dynel epoxy sheath) coating. The deck is King Billy Pine, Ply and Epoxy composite with non slip and thick teak decking. The design combines classic timber with modern composite enhancement for reduced maintenance and extra strength.
Re-powered in 2011 with a Yanmar 3YM30 G shaft drive diesel with under 1000 hours, the vessel offers reliable motoring. A new aluminium mast and rigging was fitted in 2013 and new keel bolts and lead fin were installed. A new furling headsail was fitted in 2022 and all other sails are in condition that safely propels the yacht for cruising wherever the owners have wished to venture.
There is an array of instrumentation and equipment such as an inverter and watermaker on board, updated when needed to give owners peace of mind to cruise remotely and accurate data on short or long passages. All powered by solar and wind generation that enables autonomous, self sufficient yachting.
While a classic, thinner hull shape, there is still plenty of room to enjoy in the cockpit and on deck. The cockpit is protected by a bimini and dodger, along with other side covers. Updated winches, deck gear and safety equipment means sailing or relaxing at anchor is safe and easy, including boarding or swimming off the extended transom scoop.
Moving down below you'll find an inviting saloon with plenty of light, ventilation, storage, classic timber and tasteful upholstery. There is a large L shaped galley to port with plenty of bench space, top opening fridges, gas stove and oven. The symmetrical dinette area forward of the galley surrounds a lovely timber saloon table with lifting leaflets for easy ergonomics. Forward of this is a large head compartment, further forward is a storage area for equipment needed for longer life onboard. Looking aft you'll see a nav station to port and twin, open doubles aft.
If you're after a yacht of more classic elegance and build than modern production yachts, that is proven to take a couple cruising on self sufficient adventures with speed and safety, then Inkwindi could be for you.
