Vessel Overview

This Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht is a semi-custom with galley up, two stateroom yacht with an enormous full beam aft owner's stateroom. This stateroom boasts a centerline queen berth, full head with dedicated shower, cabinets, drawers, hanging locker, and desk. There is an overhead hatch and 8 opening ports for extensive ventilation. The spacious forward stateroom has an ensuite head with shower stall and generous storage.

Both heads are VacuFlush fresh water heads.

What makes this semi-custom Grand Banks truly unique is it left the factory with the utility room configuration installed, representing a highly customized and exceptionally rare configuration for a Grand Banks. This utility room has a top loading deep freezer, storage cabinets, including a full height pantry, washer/dryer, and workbench with tool storage.

The main salon features a new full opening front salon window (2020) that provides flow through ventilation.

Interior Systems

The galley features an electric stove with oven, Grunnert 110v holding plate refrigeration with a refrigerator in the galley and refrigerator/freezer in the main salon, and an ice maker (2022).

The utility room is factory designed and built with a deep freezer, Grunnert 110v holding plate, storage, a Combo Splendide washer/dryer vented, microwave, and workbench.

Electronics

All electronics were installed in 2022. The chartplotters include a Garmin GPSMap 1243xsv on the flybridge, a Garmin GPSMap 743xsv at the lower helm, and a Garmin GPS Echomap Plus 70 on the tender. All three include coverage of the entire Great Loop and Bahamas. Additional electronics include a Raymarine auto pilot at both stations, Starlink, two stereos—one on the flybridge and one in the salon—with 4 speaker zones and bluetooth interface (2022), a Standard Horizon Quest VHF at the lower helm, a Standard Horizon Eclipse VHF at the upper helm, AIS send/receive, a cell phone dock station with additional double USB on the flybridge, 2 double USBs in the owner's stateroom, and LED lighting throughout.

Electrical

An Onan 8kw generator with Racor fuel filter and sound shield (3,680 hrs) provides primary power. A Xantrex Freedom SW Sine wave 3000 watt inverter/charger is dedicated to 6 Group 31 AGM house batteries (2022). A Xantrex True Charge 40 amp charger is dedicated to the engine, generator, and dinghy lift. Additional batteries include 2 engine start batteries and 1 dinghy lift battery, all AGM Group 31 or 28 (2022). The system includes a ProSafe FS60 galvanic isolator, 50 amp and 30 amp shore cords with adaptors, 50 amp service with bow and stern receptacles, and a bonding system. Climate control comprises 3 air/heat units: one 16,000 BTU and two 12,000 BTU.

Hull and Deck

An 88 lb Rocna anchor with 200 feet of 3/8" HT chain and nylon braid rode is paired with a Fortress FX55 anchor with chain and additional nylon braid rode. A Lofrans Tigress windlass (2022) handles ground tackle. Saltwater anchor washdown with high volume pump and fore and aft freshwater washdown are installed. A 10-foot Sport Rigid dinghy with steering console and GPS plotter (2019) is deployed via custom davits with electric hoist (2019), with a separate anchor and 30hp Evinrude outboard (2019). On-deck amenities include a bimini with enclosure, cushions, teak table with cover, wheel cover, dock lines, fenders, and a Magma propane grill on a rail mount on the aft deck. A propane locker with tanks is fitted. The hull features 4 opening hatches, mesh window covers, and exterior teak that is unfinished except for a varnished and covered transom and a finished teak swim platform. Fuel tanks (4 x 100 gallons, aluminum) were replaced in 2013.

Engine and Mechanical

Twin 2010 Cummins 6BT 220hp diesel engines operate at 2,600 rpm and were remanufactured and installed in 2010, equipped with synchronized controls at 2 stations. New ZF220 gears were installed in 2010. A fuel polishing system (160 GPH) maintains fuel quality. An oil change system is fitted for both engines, transmissions, and generator. Dual Racor filters with valves serve each engine. An instant hot water system (2011) provides comfort, and spare propellers are carried. Bilge management includes 4 automatic bilge pumps: 2 standard, 1 highwater, and 1 sump.
