Hunter Passage 42
Overview
About this vessel
The 1991 Hunter Passage 42 is a proven two-cabin, two-head cruising design, known for its center cockpit layout and comfortable accommodations for both sailing and liveaboard use. With generous interior volume, a walk-through reverse transom with swim platform, in-mast furling mainsail, and roller-furling genoa, she is well-suited for cruising and extended time aboard. Before finding this boat, the current owners had already chosen a name— Divan San , meaning “beautiful dream” in Croatian. Coincidentally, when they boat-shopped in 2021, they came across Bella Sogno —Italian for the same meaning. A fitting match.
With a fascinating history and only two prior owners, her journeys include a passage from Texas, through the Panama Canal, and across the Pacific to Australia and New Zealand. Notably, she also spent 15 years as a lake boat in McKinney, Texas before being transported overland to the East Coast. Under her current ownership, she has been cruised locally in the Southeast, with St. Simons Island as her home port. She is clean and ready to go, awaiting her next chapter. The boat is currently docked in a marina that allows long-term stays. The slip is privately rented; assumability to be verified by the buyer.
A 2025 insurance survey is available for review. Divan San presents a solid platform with a desirable layout and a well-traveled cruising pedigree. She is clean, well maintained and can be enjoyed in her current condition or further outfitted for extended passagemaking (note: some previous long-range equipment, such as a watermaker or autopilot, is no longer installed).
Disclaimer: The owners report that the starboard-side swim platform/transom area sustained prior storm-related damage while the vessel was docked, with no water intrusion into the interior. Repairs were professionally completed at Tiger Point Marina in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Supporting documentation is available for review.
