About this vessel
The Taswell 43, designed by Bill Dixon and built by Ta Shing, is a highly regarded, solid fibreglass 1993 model centre-cockpit cruiser known for high-quality, teak interior and heavy duty construction. Supreme offshore capability, and a comfortable, spacious liveaboard layout. It features a cutter rig for easy handling, a protected helm, and generous accommodation with two private staterooms.
Crystal Seas has three separate living areas. First is a forward head containing a vacuum flush system, holding tank, and a wet shower. The anchor chain area and a huge storage area are also accessed here. Next is a double Pullman Berth with its own pocket door to provide private accommodations for guests.
Continuing aft into the main living area is a full navigation station, U shaped galley, a large semicircular folding table with a full settee around it to provide plenty of room for up to eight guests. Stairs lead up to the center cockpit from this space also.
The U-shaped galley is fully equipped with a gimballed Force 10 three burner propane stove and oven (NSW gas certified 2026). There is a range hood/fan, large refrigerator and freezer as well. An air fryer/toaster oven and microwave each have their own secure space. A deep double sink accommodates cleaning and food preparation.
Continuing aft of the main living area is the main berth with on suite salt water flush head and enclosed shower. The main berth has a queen size bed in the middle with a reading seat on either side of the bed. There is plenty of storage for his and her wardrobes and plenty of ventilation via a large hatch above, two dorades, ocean ports and 2 port lights near the head of the bed for those warm nights.
Engine room access is excellent from all sides beneath the center cockpit space. A complete set of tools are onboard with hand tools that are at your fingertips on pegboards of each access door as well as two full tool boxes in under floor compartments.
The existing 880Ah AGM batteries can be charged 3 ways to keep you off-grid as long as desired. An 8KVA diesel genset paired to the 150 amp charger will charge your batteries quickly while keeping the boat cool with the state of the art air conditioning system. Or, there is a Balmar 100 amp alternator as well as 400 watts of solar. Crystal Seas is lithium battery ready thanks to each charging system (solar, alternator, and inverter/charger) having multiple selectable charging profiles.
To ensure the security of Crystal Seas while you are away, there is Eufy security system powered by its own built in solar and will sound a siren with a bright strobe if there is a human on the boat. The Eufy system will alert you of an event via SMS message and allow you to monitor video or speak.
In addition to the remote security functions, the electrical system status and charge level can be monitored and the Velair air conditioning system can be operated to dehumidify, cool or heat the boat. Crystal Seas can be remotely monitored in its entirety via her Starlink or the onboard Digital Yacht mobile connection.
