About this vessel
Australian designed and built, the Northshore NSx38 boasts an excellent reputation for its build quality, exhilarating sailing performance, and true versatility. These impressive vessels have excellent at everything from twilight through to serious offshore racing, whilst being equally as suited to weeks away cruising with family and friends. Well balanced, and quick upwind, they deliver the rare combination of speed, seaworthiness, and everyday usability in one outstanding package. "Winstead" is an excellent example of the design, and has been under the same experienced ownership since 2013. During this time it has been a successful competitor in the Hobart racing scene, with many podium finishes over the years. Having been freshly antifouled in SEPT 2025, "Windstead" is ready for a Summer of sailing! Whether you want to experience the thrill of racing, or simply enjoy the vessel's impressive performance for comfortable cruising, this is a vessel that can do it all with ease!
Stepping inside, the interior is light and airy, with plenty of timber trims to add to the ambience. The saloon features a generous dinette with seating 8 in comfort on the neatly upholstered settees. The L-shaped galley is to port and is well set up for preparing meals at sea. It features a single burner gas stove with oven, large icebox, stainless steel sink with pressurised fresh water, and plenty of storage. The accommodation is ideal for both cruising with friends and family, or the full race crew! Forwards is a generous double v-berth, there is a second double berth aft, and two single settee berths in the saloon when additional accommodation is required. The package is complete with a private bathroom with manual toilet and vanity.
Outside, the spacious cockpit is a great feature of this design, and is well set up for both serious racing, and leisurely shorthanded cruising. The mainsheet is in easy reach of the tiller, all lines are lead back to the cockpit, there is a cruising headsail to fit the furler, boom bag with lazy jacks for the mainsail, plus a Raymarine Autopilot, adding to the ease of use. The walk through transom provides easy access in the marina or to the water, and the vessel also comes with a spray dodger for additional comfort. There is easy access forward around the wide side decks, and a stainless steel bowsprit for flying an Asymmetric spinnaker.
This vessel is powered by well maintained and reliable Volvo Penta 29HP Diesel Engine. Serviced in SEPT 2025, it provides easy and economical cruising at 6 knots.
