Beneteau Oceanis 40 CC
Overview
About this vessel
SEA BANSHEE is a well-equipped coastal cruiser with Mexico trips on her resume. If you are looking for the perfect Baja Ha-Ha 2024 boat, look no further—this is it.
The Oceanis 40CC is an ideal long-distance cruising yacht for a couple, with the capability of accommodating four or five people in comfort. The boat is powered, reliable, and offers high performance essential to the pleasure of cruising.
The hull is remarkable for its long waterline, big volumes, and efficient wing-bulb keel. The structural inner molding is glued and laminated to the hull, distributing stresses from the rigging and keel. This technology combines reliability and strength while providing finished locker interiors that are easy to maintain.
One of the principal advantages of a central cockpit is the incomparable safety derived from the height of the cockpit, which is surrounded on all sides. A step in the coaming makes it easier to get up the two teak-covered bench seats in the cockpit. Genoa and mainsail halyards and furler lines are brought back onto powerful stoppers that free the halyard winch when necessary. All handling lines are within reach.
The deck is logical, simple, and efficient, with steps in the transom for a bathing ladder, life raft fixing point on the aft coachproof, solid wooden bulwark the full length of the hull, and a teak rubbing strake. Numerous opening hatches and Dorade vents are positioned not to impede movement on deck. Chainplates are positioned right against the coachproof, leaving side decks free for easy access to the foredeck sunbathing area and electric windlass.
The warm interior atmosphere of cherry finish creates good quality of life on board. The saloon table and raised settees to starboard ensure a pleasant sea view from inside. The navigation station to port features a chart table with stowage, bookshelves, a 16-function electrical control panel, and room for on-board electronics.
The forward cabin accommodates guests with a large double berth, hanging locker, and multiple other lockers plus an en suite head compartment. The galley features a freezer, refrigerator, double stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurized water, three-burner gimbaled stove, and many cupboards and drawers. The master cabin, positioned aft, features a large double berth accessible from both sides, vanity-desk with mirror and lockers, large hanging lockers, and a private head compartment with WC and separate shower.
The deck and cabin assembly feature balsa wood coring with molded fiberglass, bonded and through-bolted to the deck flange via an anodized aluminum toe railing bedded in mastic. All working and maneuvering areas on deck are molded nonskid. The exterior has a white linear polyurethane painted finish, and the bottom has been epoxy resin sealed and painted with ablative anti-fouling paint.
The rig is a modern moderate aspect ratio masthead sloop with roller furling headsail and in-mast roller furling mainsail, with a working sail area of approximately 670 square feet. The mast is mounted through the cabin top and supported on a major ring frame below. A double set of swept-back aluminum spreaders is fitted. All standing rigging was replaced in 2012 by KKMI boat yard and found without noticeable fault. All running rigging was also replaced in 2012.
The vessel includes an 11-foot Achilles dinghy with a 15 HP refurbished outboard engine.
