Overview
About this vessel
The Hunter Legend 240 was designed to maximise cabin space in an easily towable yacht. The full width coach-roof makes a big difference to the cabin size. There are berths for 5 adults. The water ballast system allows weight to be shed for ease of towing and the swing keel gives a shallow draft with the keel up. The boat comes with an 8hp Tohatsu outboard with remote tank and controls and a single axle road trailer.
GRP construction in white gel finish makes the boat easy to clean inside and out. The water ballast system floods the ballast tank on launching and is easily drained as the boat is hauled out on the trailer reducing the towing weight by about 600kg. The swing keel gives a draft of 0.45m keel up to 1.68m keel down. Fold up rudder with tiller steering.
Powered by an 8hp Tohatsu 8B outboard with remote tank and controls. A single 12V battery provides engine start and service power and is charged via the engine and a solar trickle charger.
There is a slab reefing Mainsail with sail coat and a roller furling Genoa, both described as being in "good to fair condition". A conventional Spinnaker by Dolphin is described as in "unused condition". The standing rigging and furler were replaced in 2022.
The open plan accommodation as berths for 5 adults though is arguably more comfortable for 2 to 3 if staying on board for any length of time. There is a good sized aft double berth, v Berth in the boa and a single settee berth in the main cabin space. Basic gally facilities with a single burner gas hob, sink with cold water and an ice box. Separate heads compartment with chemical head and hand basin.
