Overview
About this vessel
The Amigo 33 is a sailboat designed by the Swedish maritime architect Carl Andersson in the early eighties. 46 boats have been built over 9 years. The Amigo 33 was built by the Swedish yard Arne Arksunds Bådvarv AB. Both the hull and the deck are made of fibreglass which requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. The boat is equipped with 4-5 berths, a galley and toilet facility. The interior is made of mahogany. Mahogany is known for being water-repellent and resistant to decay. It has an attractive wood grain and holds wood polish and varnish well. The Amigo 33 is built with a long keel, which provides better directional stability than a fin keel equipped boat. A long keel can enter even shallower marinas as the draft is just about 1.40 - 1.50 meter (4.59 - 4.89 ft) dependent on the load. The fuel tank, which is made of stainless steel, has a capacity of 50 approx. litres ( Untested ). Equipped with an inboard Volvo Penta 2002 , diesel engine of 21Hp, it has a shaft drive, which in the long run, requires less maintenance than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive. "Nicole" is a one-of-a-kind sailing boat, based on an Amigo 33 and then fitted out by Halberg Rassey with a schooner rig and a custom interior. With a long keel she is a good safe ocean-going cruiser, and one of the best sub 40 foot yachts available.
Recently reduced to facilitate a quick sale, however there is an undiagnosed gearbox issue which all potential buyers should be aware of.
