About this vessel
Acquired by a noted Australian yachtsman in 2014, Bumblebee V underwent a significant refit in 2017, with the aim of creating a fast and safe, high-quality racer-cruiser suitable for all types of sailing. Enhancements included the addition of a large V-berth, pressurised hot water to the galley and both heads, and the addition of a carbon fibre bowsprit to suit the new asymmetrical spinnakers. A new Yanmar 75hp diesel engine was fitted in 2018, followed by a new saildrive in 2020. Various upgrades to her rigging and instrumentation were also carried out, ensuring optimal performance.
In 2023, Bumblebee V was restored to her racing essence, showcasing major works and readiness to compete. She was then professionally campaigned in 2023, achieving commendable finishes in key events, including: 2023 Hamilton Island Race Week - 2nd on scratch in division, 2023 Cabbage Tree Island Race, 2023 Sydney to Hobart - 14th on line honours. Bumblebee V is now set up for both racing and cruising, and represents a remarkable opportunity for a discerning buyer.
