Overview
About this vessel
Respected as a wide body cruiser the Regal 326 Commodore has fantastic cruising characteristics, is an excellent entertainer and offers plenty of accommodation in a twin cabin arrangement. The brand represents a great choice for family boating, over nighting and cruising the WA waterways with friends. Its a combination that is not always seen in a comprehensive boating package.
An extended swim platform greets you at the dock neatly finished in EVA decking, stainless steel railings inclusive of a tender bracket and deluxe rear ladder. Twin storage lockers built into the transom and couple of EVA finished steps leads you through the Port side transom door to the Cockpit. Spacious for the this class of boat with much of the the thanks going to the 3.40m beam, she feels like a larger boat as you step aboard through the wrap around camper covers. Typical of the sports cruiser range a large U shaped lounge fills the area from the transom to the back of the double wide helm seat offering plenty of storage options along the way with a removable table ready for the afternoon sundowner drinks.. A wet bar to the Port side with a spacious locker below that could easily fit a second fridge if you were looking to upgrade the cold space onboard. Heading towards the companionway door walks you passed another twin locker built into the Port side before you step up the raised helm position. You cant have enough storage on a boat.
Stepping through the Port side companionway down into the main cabin you will appreciate the head room, I know I do along with the feeling of plenty width thanks again to that 3.4m beam. You are not in a cramped 32 foot cruiser, she has volume in the beam and height. Step passed the Port side dinette neatly finished in a neutral colour palette so you can bring your own colour scheme into the boat. I know my wife likes that idea. A Starboard galley with recessed Princess twin element stove, UL microwave, Stainless Steel sink and Engel fridge neatly house in the cupboards below with room for the cutlery, crockery and cookware. All trimmed in a light timber finish creating space and light down below. An added bonus here being the AR Marine air conditioning available to you on or off the dock with a Westerbeke genset inhabiting the engine bay.
Running across the forward beam of the boat the master double with privacy screen will offer you a great nights sleep. Maximising the available internal space with a clever offset of the master berth speaks to the design thoughts Regal puts into it small cruiser range. There is even a comfortable small lounge facing aft to increase the available seating, its a clever use of space. An aft transverse berth is available and most owners leave this set up but there is the option to break it down to an aft lounge seating area. Berths for at least 4 in a 32 foot package is a great use of the available space.
Unlike many of the USA built small cruiser the Regal 326 has quality gunwale bulwalks which we can attribute to the 3.4 m beam. Making your way forward to teh foredeck is safe and manageable. Coming along side is much easier when you have access along the side of the boat. A set of bow cushions while not particularly thick do offer a sun lounge to soak up some rays anchored at Champagne bay on a summers day.
The raised helm position with ample seating offers fantastic vision, a must when navigating local waters. Bolster seating when you want a standing helm position or drop these back down for a super comfortable driving position when entertaining onboard. A typical Regal helm layout with all you need right at hand. A brace of analogue gauges, Quicksilver dual binnacle control, Hydraulic steering on a tilting helm makes for an easy day on the water. Lowrance combination GPS / Sounder Elite 9 Chirp electronics will get you there and back safely. There is even a small chart table for the traditionalists amongst us. Powered by a pair of Mercruiser 7.4 V8 Mpi petrol stern drives you wont have to worry about the cost of diesel when enjoying a day on the water with the family. Offering you 310 hp per side and a comfortable 20 knot cruise the Regal 326 will eat up the miles.
Presented very well by the current owners she has been a labour of love, well maintained and neatly polished.
