Dark Horse is a wonderful example of the 60' Viking Cockpit Sport Yacht. A stretched version of the 54' MY, she adds a 6' cockpit extension for swimming, fishing and enjoying outdoor spaces.

Exterior & Decks

The stern and aft deck feature a molded fiberglass swim platform with pullout swim ladder and new SeaDeck non-slip surface. A starboard side transom door and gate provide easy access. The aft cockpit includes built-in storage cabinets and custom mezzanine-style cushions. Molded fiberglass stairs with handrails lead to the upper aft deck, a catwalk with new SeaDeck, and a lockable sliding glass door accesses the enclosed aft deck.

The full-beam, enclosed aft deck is bathed in natural light through tinted sliding glass windows. It features an L-shaped sofa with ultraleather upholstery and storage beneath, two wood and rattan occasional chairs, a port forward wet bar with freshwater sink, a stainless steel refrigerator and ice maker, a 42-inch Samsung flat screen HDTV on swing arm mount, and overhead lighting with a dedicated 30,000 BTU HVAC unit.

Wide, safe and comfortable side decks with stainless steel bow and side railings provide access via wing doors. The foredeck features a molded anchor pulpit, anchor windlass, and a completely rebuilt 1,500-pound capacity bow davit. A Nautica RIB 13 Jet dinghy with 50 hp jet drive motor and custom cover is included.

Pilothouse

The fully enclosed pilothouse features a factory hardtop, sliding rear glass windows, and three large glass front windshield panels each with wiper and washer. Three Murray Brothers pedestal helm chairs with removable upholstery and footrests provide commanding sightlines from the centerline helm station. An L-shaped sofa along the rear and port side offers additional seating with white vinyl cushions and storage beneath. Navigation and engine controls are comprehensive and well-organized, with HVAC controls for the dedicated 30,000 BTU pilothouse unit and excellent lighting throughout. Salon & Galley

The full-beam salon is situated below the helm deck and bathed in natural light via large windows running the full length of both sides, fitted with Hunter-Douglas silhouette blinds. High-gloss teak interior throughout includes a large L-shaped sofa along the aft and port side with substantial storage beneath, a port side end table with drawers, and two bar stools overlooking the galley. A dining table and booth with high-gloss teak table and ultraleather upholstered seating occupy the starboard forward portion. A Samsung 32-inch flat screen HDTV sits atop starboard side teak cabinets. Overhead lighting and stereo speakers, upholstered headliner, and a dedicated 30,000 BTU HVAC unit complete the space.

The galley features tile flooring, a large home-sized Whirlpool side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator and freezer with ice and water in the door, a Sharp Carousel convection microwave above the stove, a two-burner electric glass-top stove with cutting board top, a large sink with designer faucet and spray head, and an under-counter Kenmore dishwasher. Upper and lower teak galley cabinets provide ample storage.

Forward Accommodations

The guest bunkroom on the starboard side features upper and lower bunks with overhead lighting, drawers beneath the lower bunk, a large closet, and a lockable privacy door. A dedicated 8,000 BTU HVAC unit serves the space. Private access leads into the adjacent guest head and shower, which features a vac-u-flush toilet, tile flooring, a stand-up shower with bi-fold door, sink and countertop with storage cabinet, and a mirrored medicine cabinet.

The laundry center across the hall houses a stacked Kenmore dryer over a Haier washing machine.

The VIP guest suite forward in the cabin boasts excellent headroom, a lockable privacy door, and a dedicated 8,000 BTU HVAC unit. It features a queen island bed with four storage drawers beneath the pedestal, a teak wall and mirrored headboard, custom bedding, and an overhead deck hatch with screen and shade in the tray ceiling feature above the bed. Upper storage cabinets line both port and starboard sides in teak, and a large cedar-lined closet provides ample storage. A JVC TV and stereo with overhead speakers complete the entertainment. The VIP ensuite head and shower offers tile flooring, a vac-u-flush toilet, full-length dressing mirror, stand-up shower with bi-fold door, large vanity with countertop and sink, and an overhead deck hatch.

Master Cabin

The full-beam aft master cabin is a very large, impressive space completely separate from the rest of the accommodations. A dedicated 12,000 BTU HVAC unit serves this space. It features a center-line real king-sized bed with mirrored headboard and custom bedding, a full bank of starboard side teak cabinets with countertop space, hull side windows with custom blinds, built-in night stands on both sides of the bed, reading lamps and overhead lighting, a port side aft cabinet, a port side desk and make-up counter, and a full-length closet with dressing mirror. The private ensuite bathroom features a countertop with built-in sink and combination fixture, a large mirror, a mirrored medicine cabinet, and a large stand-up shower with bi-fold door and wand fixture.

Engine Room

Engine room access is excellent via a stand-up doorway near the master cabin entrance, with excellent lighting and access to all sides of the engines. Twin MAN V-10 diesel engines, freshly serviced with receipts, power this vessel. An Onan 21.5 kW diesel-powered generator in a sound shield, NewMar Perfect Wave inverter/charger, Dometic HVAC unit compressors, fresh water pump and accumulator tank, oil exchange system, Garmin engine room cameras, dripless shaft seals, crash valves, IsoBoost voltage stabilizing transformer, and Racor primary fuel filters with vacuum gauges complete the mechanical systems. The generator and HVAC equipment sit on a shelf at the forward end of the engine space.

Dark Horse is tastefully decorated and incredibly roomy throughout. All original Viking manuals are onboard in great condition. A comprehensive 2,000-hour service was recently completed by a MAN dealer. Bow thruster and docking cameras provide stress-free operation, and the fully enclosed flying helm with dedicated HVAC unit creates a comfortable command center.
