About this vessel
GIBIAN is the first of the hugely successful Wally 100 line and represents a rare opportunity to own an icon from the yard's early era. Launched in 2000 in Fano, Italy, she was designed by Germán Frers, whose performance hulls have shaped more than 170 superyachts. The Wally build team combined a lightweight composite structure with raised saloon, Southern Spars carbon mast and furling boom to achieve a timeless looking, versatile performance-cruiser.
The result is a sailing yacht built for fast, efficient passage making and equally comfortable coastal cruising. GIBIAN has been consistently maintained since launch by the same captain and engineer, with low hours on her Caterpillar engine and new generator added to a strong technical record that keeps her in excellent operational condition.
Her performance credentials are serious. With a displacement of just 75 tonnes and 420 m² of sail area, GIBIAN reaches 15 knots under sail and 12 knots under power. The moderate draft gives her the stability needed for ocean crossings while still allowing access to many of the frequented Mediterranean and Caribbean anchorages. The yacht proved her pedigree at the 2014 Frers Cup, Antigua Sailing Week and Giraglia confirming the agility and balance that the Wally 100 line is known for. A retractable bow thruster, upgraded North 3Di sails, Future Fibres carbon forestay foil on a new Carboni hydraulic furler ensure she remains easy to handle even with a reduced crew.
