Overview

About this vessel

GIBIAN is the first of the hugely successful Wally 100 line and represents a rare opportunity to own an icon from the yard's early era. Launched in 2000 in Fano, Italy, she was designed by Germán Frers, whose performance hulls have shaped more than 170 superyachts. The Wally build team combined a lightweight composite structure with raised saloon, Southern Spars carbon mast and furling boom to achieve a timeless looking, versatile performance-cruiser.

The result is a 30-meter sailing yacht built for fast, efficient passage making and equally comfortable coastal cruising. GIBIAN has been consistently maintained since launch by the same captain and engineer, with low hours on her Caterpillar engine and new generator added to a strong technical record that keeps her in excellent operational condition.

Her performance credentials are serious. With a displacement of just 75 tonnes and 420 m 8 of sail area, GIBIAN reaches 15 knots under sail and 12 knots under power. The moderate 4.2-meter draft gives her the stability needed for ocean crossings while still allowing access to many of the frequented Mediterranean and Caribbean anchorages. The yacht proved her pedigree at the 2014 Frers Cup, Antigua Sailing Week and Giraglia confirming the agility and balance that the Wally 100 line is known for. A retractable bow thruster, upgraded North 3Di sails, Future Fibres carbon forestay foil on a new Carboni hydraulic furler ensure she remains easy to handle even with a reduced crew.

Between 2020 and 2022, the yacht received a major technical refresh, including new paint, new stainless rod rigging, new generator, new electrical upgrades to both 24V DC and 220V AC systems and a modernized navigation suite. Her current electronics package includes B&G H5000 processing, Zeus 8- and 12-inch displays, radar, Garmin AIS, depth sounder and MaxSea software. Interior soft goods were renewed during the same period, keeping the environment fresh without altering the original Wally aesthetic. Previous updates include rigging and sail optimizations for the 2014 regatta and a teak refit. In total, more than 0AC500,000 has been invested in maintaining the performance ethos of the original build.

The exterior sports unmistakable Frers lines, a flowing deck with raised saloon profile silhouette that still looks modern today. The cockpit is the main social hub, with U-shaped seating for eight, a movable dining table, a wet bar and a bimini for shade. This area also provides direct access to the water and tender storage. Wide decks lead forward to the clean working foredeck, where sail-handling systems remain easy to access underway. The aft platform doubles as a simple launch space for toys and tender operations, with storage in the lazarette for Seabobs, paddleboards, or kayaks. A Williams 395 Sportjet tender is included.

Inside, GIBIAN follows Wally's original minimalist brief: light oak, polished composite surfaces, stone accents in the en-suites and clean joinery lines that create a bright and uncluttered feel. Natural light enters through large hull ports and skylights, giving the interior an airy, loft-like atmosphere. The main salon combines a U-shaped lounge, a coffee table, and a C-shaped dining area, with the navigation station integrated into the space so the whole crew stays connected during passages. Subtle LED lighting and Condaria climate control keep things comfortable on long trips.

Accommodation is arranged aft for guests and forward for crew. The full-beam owner's suite features a king-size berth, a private office/study and an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and stone vanity. Two twin cabins sit adjacent, each fitted with two fixed single beds plus a retractable berth for flexible use, making the guest layout suitable for 6 + 2. Each twin has its own en-suite with separate shower. Crew live forward in two twin cabins with private facilities and easy access to the galley and the crew mess.

GIBIAN is turnkey and ready for new adventures, whether that means Mediterranean family cruising, offshore passages, or competitive regatta participation.
