Roger Hill 11.7m Power Cat
Overview
About this vessel
A well-regarded design by Roger Hill, this 11.7m power catamaran delivers the ideal balance of performance, offshore capability, and comfortable cruising. Known for efficient hull design, excellent stability, and practical layout, this vessel is perfectly suited to New Zealand conditions and a wide range of uses, from family cruising to fishing and coastal adventures.
An extensive refit was undertaken between 2017 and 2020. As part of this work, the hull was structurally stiffened with 25mm foam and additional glassing along the chine. Two 1997 Yanmar 4LH-DTE 170hp diesel engines were installed during this time and fully rebuilt, along with the gearboxes, drivelines, propellers, and rudders. The vessel also received upgraded Garmin electronics, new water tanks and pumps, a diesel heater, and refreshed interior upholstery.
Access by dual transom doors, the cockpit itself is notably spacious, offering comfortable seating, ample storage and a well-laid-out Island bait station, making it a versatile space for entertaining, fishing, and easy access to the water.
The interior and exterior were professionally repainted, new deck hatches were installed, a significant amount of stainless steel hardware was replaced, and both a new bait station and boarding platform were added.
Designed for comfort and practicality, the layout offers multiple social zones and an easy flow between interior and exterior spaces. The saloon and galley are arranged in an open-plan configuration with excellent visibility and positioned so whoever is preparing food remains part of the conversation. The dinette seating can convert to provide an additional berth or relaxed lounging area when needed.
Accommodation consists of a double cabin and single berth in each hull complemented by storage throughout, making longer stays aboard simple and uncluttered. Large windows and plenty of ventilation ensure the interior feels bright, airy and inviting. The private head and shower are conveniently located off the cockpit.
