About this vessel
Duchesse II is a 2001 Catana 472 performance cruising catamaran and part of the highly sought-after Caligo limited edition range. Built by the renowned French shipyard Catana and designed by Christophe Barreau and Fredric Neuman, this model is celebrated for combining bluewater capability, speed, and liveaboard comfort in a refined, lightweight multihull package.
With a composite hull and GRP deck, the vessel features a daggerboard design that delivers impressive upwind performance. The rig includes a carbon fibre mast, boom, bowsprit, and Kevlar rigging, supporting a powerful sail wardrobe with a full-batten Dacron mainsail, radial Dacron headsails, three screechers/gennakers, and a Code 0. All furlers are high-quality brands including Harken, Rollgen, and Selden. Sail handling is made easy with five manual and three Harken electric winches.
The saloon is bright and airy with an up-galley to port, equipped with twin refrigeration units, Force 10 stove/oven/grill, microwave, and generous storage. Accommodation includes two queen cabins, one double, and a drop-down saloon berth, with two bathrooms featuring vacuum-flush heads.
The vessel is comprehensively outfitted for extended cruising with a Pro 9000 watermaker, Westerbeke genset, lithium batteries, inverter, and air conditioning in three zones. Additional amenities include a washing machine, hardtop bimini with full enclosures, and a tender with outboard.
Electronics feature a full Simrad suite with radar, AIS, autopilot at three stations, wind instruments, and HF/VHF radios. Safety gear includes a liferaft, EPIRB, jackets, extinguishers, bilge pumps, and anchor chain with windlass.
Lying in Brisbane with Australian tax paid, Duchesse II presents a rare opportunity to own a well-equipped Catana 472 ready for offshore passage-making or luxury liveaboard cruising.
