Catalina 38

This 2004 Catalina 387 is fully equipped for off-grid living. The owners have just returned from months in the Bahamas where she has been for the last 10 winter seasons. She is on the hard for the summer season and easy to show.

Accommodations

Large Master Stateroom aft with queen bed. The head gives you plenty of elbow room with its separate stall shower. A nice sized L-shaped galley, a navigation station, a dinner-sized table, or convenient cocktail table that provides guests more space to move around fills out the salon. The spacious guest cabin forward has a V-berth and is large enough to accommodate two adults and offers ample storage space.

Galley

The galley features granitecoat countertops, 12-volt refrigeration system, double stainless steel sinks, and a Princess gimballed three burner stove with oven. An Isotherm water-cooled smart refrigerator and well-insulated refrigeration/freezer with top and front loading access provide ample cooling capacity, along with large dry food storage under the counter and spacious storage cabinets along the portside.

Hull and Deck

The one-piece fiberglass deck features molded-in non-skid, and a comfortable cockpit with contoured coamings and a fiberglass cockpit table with two leaves. Full set of cockpit cushions, including stern seats, and a walk-through transom with sugar scoop and storage lockers are provided. A stern boarding ladder with contour treads, large double anchor roller on the foredeck, and electric anchor windlass with power up and down foot switches complete the deck layout. Cutlass bearing and 1¼ inch stainless steel propeller shaft are new as of 2023. A custom arch with davits, solar, radar and wind generator was installed in 2017. Antifouling with two coats was applied in February 2024 and two additional coats in August 2024.

Sails and Handling

A furling in-mast mainsail is new as of 2024. The vessel is equipped with a jib (135) and riding sail. All standing rigging is new from 2016. The anodized mast and boom support two-speed self-tailing primary winches (Harken 48s) and two-speed self-tailing mainsheet/halyard winches (Harken 32s). All halyards lead aft with sheet stoppers, and genoa tracks are inboard. Convenient storage bags are provided for all sheets.
