A 2004 Hanse 531 privately owned since new and continuously well maintained and upgraded/equipped for serious offshore cruising.
The 531 is an extremely stable platform, with substantial stability to ensure stiff upwind sailing and minimal roll at anchor. Her 2-cabin layout is extremely spacious and luxurious, akin to a modern apartment but floating.
The original owner commissioned her in Pittwater and, as well as cruising her 2 handed with his wife, successfully club raced her short-handed. This was possible due to electric winches and self-tacking jib—a brilliant and simple system.
Since new, this yacht has had most of her life being pampered on a marina berth and has returned from a successful 6-month coastal cruise of the East coast.
Recent works carried out include antifoul, hull polished, boot line re-painted, teak decks re-oiled, mast removed and rigging checked, new cutlass bearing, Speedprop coat on propeller, and new mast rubber boot. A 2025 survey has been completed for insurance purposes.
