Overview
About this vessel
Mignon is a beautifully kept and thoughtfully upgraded 2004 Hunter 386, fully equipped for cruising the San Juans, Gulf Islands, and beyond. Comfort, convenience, and livability are what the Hunter 386 is all about, and Mignon is a fine example of the design. Abundant natural light streams in through the signature windshield, multiple fixed and screened ports, and numerous overhead hatches, giving the interior an open and airy feel. At anchor or at the dock, the placement of the ports and hatches provides excellent ventilation, and custom window covers are included for comfort and privacy.
Below, the enlarged salon makes entertaining friends and family easy, with a convertible dinette, facing settee, and plentiful storage throughout. The integrated nav station offers good space for electronics and cruising essentials. The Corian covered galley is well laid out for extended cruising, with generous counter space, a double basin stainless sink, side by side ice boxes, and practical storage throughout.
Forward, the private guest stateroom includes a vanity with sink and storage, along with generous hanging locker and drawer space. Aft, the owner 27s stateroom features a large queen berth and even more storage, making the boat particularly comfortable for a couple cruising for weekends or longer stretches. The dual access head enhances privacy and features a Corian covered vanity, electric marine head, and a separate shower area in an easy to maintain fiberglass enclosure.
On deck, Mignon offers one of the standout features of the Hunter 386: a very large cockpit designed for both comfort underway and easy entertaining at anchor. The coaming extends out toward the gunwales, creating notably generous seating, while the custom cockpit console with folding table leaves makes a perfect spot for meals in the cockpit. The integrated stainless steel traveler arch is both practical and distinctive, helping keep the cockpit open while simplifying sail handling.
Under sail, the Hunter 386 has a strong reputation as a fast cruising boat that performs well in lighter winds and remains easy to handle short handed. The rig is efficient and well suited to couples cruising, with a smaller jib and larger main that make sail handling straightforward.
What makes Mignon especially appealing is that she combines the Hunter 386 27s proven layout and sailing characteristics with meaningful recent upgrades for modern cruising, including:
