The Sweet Spot: Cruise in Comfort, Fish on Command

Meet SAFARI, the Riviera 40 that doubles as a relaxed, family-friendly cruiser and a capable offshore sportfish. She's the boat where one crew can stream the game in the salon while another works the cockpit spread—then everyone gathers for dinner in an air-conditioned interior with a dishwasher and washer/dryer. With fresh electronics, a protected helm, and smart mechanical updates, SAFARI is set up to be easy to own and even easier to enjoy.

Family-First Layout

Two staterooms and one head with stall shower. The owner's stateroom forward has a centerline berth, private head access, storage, and overhead hatch. The guest cabin on the starboard side has three bunks, hanging locker, and drawers with a washer/dryer combo. The salon is built to gather with an L-settee with pull-out berth, large L-dinette, ottoman, privacy shades, and recessed LED lighting. Two-zone A/C, U-Line, TV/DVD, and upgraded speakers complete the space. The galley has Corian counters, molded sink, two-burner Ceran cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, Nova fridge/freezer, teak & holly sole, and deep storage.

Helm and Electronics

Triple Garmin MFDs, 4-foot radar, sounder, and AIS. Autopilot with Icom VHF, Clarion stereo, and CAT engine monitors. Dual varnished helm chairs (refinished 2024) with bridge refrigerator/freezer, sink, and counter. Engine data is integrated to NMEA 2000 for clean, modern readouts. An air horn with compressor can also be used to inflate toys.

Deck and Cockpit: Chill or Chase

Hardtop with full enclosure featuring new Strataglass sides and new forward acrylic. Fishing amenities include a see-through lighted livewell, in-deck fish box, rigging station, tackle drawers, cockpit freezer, transom door, fresh and raw washdowns, coaming bolsters, rod holders in the gunwales and rocket launcher, Rupp double-spreader outriggers, and LED spreaders and courtesy lights. A varnished rocket launcher is aboard. Ground tackle includes a bow rail, new Muir windlass (2025), and chain/anchor package. Lumitec underwater lights in blue and white provide evening ambiance. AC-powered lights atop the hardtop can spread or dock for parties.

Mechanical and Electrical

Twin CAT 3126 with trolling valves and engine synchronizer paired with Twin Disc gears. A 1,000-hour service was completed in 2024 on the engines and generator. Twin Racors per main, oil-change system, Sea-Fire suppression, and battery parallel configuration. An Onan 9.5 kW genset with new raw-water circulation pump for A/C and bait freezer, and new fishbox macerator. Full interior and exterior LED lighting upgrade with house batteries new in 2025. Three start batteries—one each for engine and generator.

Owner's Notes

SAFARI feels bigger than 40 feet where it counts—salon, galley, and cockpit—so families aren't on top of each other, and anglers have space to work. She's turnkey for fall football raft-ups, leaf-peeping cruises, or hopping a weather window to chase tuna. The big jobs—electronics, enclosure, windlass, and 1,000-hour services—are already done, which means you can step aboard and use the boat right away.
