The Dufour 40 is a design by Umberto Felci with the interior and deck designed by Patrick Roseo. Construction is French. Dufour 40 is a proven offshore performance cruiser with high placings in races over the years such as Fastnet, Annapolis to Bermuda, North Sea Race. At the same time, she is a very comfortable, safe and easily handled for family vacations. All lines lead aft, including the reefing lines, making sail handling very easy. The main sheet is at the end of the boom with a traveler almost as wide as the boat. She is a very light feeling boat, easily matching the wind speed up to 7-8 knots. SA/D 19.3.
The hull features short ends and a wide beam aft. Carrying that beam aft adds stability and sailing length, but more importantly, makes for more interior volume aft.
