Overview
About this vessel
Fantastic family boating this Australian delivered Monterey 270 CR is comparable to the likes of a Searay 275 or Four Winns 265 with the extra benefit of a larger and more accessible aft cabin something that seems to be just that little bit lacking in the other two boats. A great way to get into the Rotto life with your family this year.
An oversized transom swim platform with the regulation stainless steel railing suitable for your BBQ leads you into the Port side transom door directly into your cockpit entertaining area. Similar in most ways to a lot of the available boats in this class it is well laid out, has ample seating under extended rear covers together with a port side mounted sink area and esky recess. Just what the family is looking for to relax in Geordie Bay this summer. Lay the double helm seat out flat to the aft of the cockpit for a great sized sun lounge and watch the world drift by.
Keep the skipper company with a chaise lounge to Port while cruising up the river. A concise and functional helm position with excellent vision and all you need right at hand with Lowrance electronics, Fusion blue tooth stereo, G-com VHF radio and Volvo tabs. A quality ride is assured. Close the Cabin access door revealing the steps forward to the bow, lay out your towel and soak up a few rays or help the skipper with ropes coming into the pen. Monterey have a well thought out package in the 270 CR.
Covering all the bases for the family in the cabin with a double berth forward converted from the dinette and a transverse double to the rear will give you four berths in comfort and lets not forget the sun lounge in the cockpit for an extra berth if required. The typical Galley to Port with stainless sink, single element Kenyon stove and Tappan microwave. Suitable storage through the Galley with plenty of storage under the forward seating for the families extra items. Natural light through the forward hatch and side port holes.
Powered by a single Mercruiser 350 Mag Mpi V8 petrol stern drive with a new transom shield installed in 2024. That gets the big ticket item out of the way and one major item that many owners do not decide to replace. Offering a comfortable cruise at 18 knots with a WOT towards 30 knots the Monterey 270 is a lovely boat to handle on the open water or in those tight areas around the yacht club.
