Overview
About this vessel
Cheesy is a 2007 French-built Dufour 40, designed by Umberto Felci and well regarded for her performance, balance and offshore capability. Originally purchased in France, she cruised extensively through Europe before undergoing a thoughtful refit aimed at safe and efficient short-handed bluewater sailing.
Set up for extended passagemaking, Cheesy features a range of practical upgrades that make her easy to handle with minimal crew. All lines are led aft to the cockpit, complemented by a three-line single reefing system, remote autopilot control and remote windlass operation. Her asymmetrical spinnaker on a bowsprit enhances downwind performance, while the addition of an inner forestay with staysail and storm sail provides versatility and confidence in heavier conditions.
Below deck, she offers a comfortable and functional layout suited to cruising life, with three cabins and a practical saloon. The aft port cabin has been converted into a lazarette, significantly increasing onboard storage for extended voyages.
Mechanically and electrically, Cheesy is well equipped for life off-grid, with additional battery capacity, a 115 amp alternator, solar generation and a wind generator. A watermaker is installed, and while it requires refurbishment, it represents valuable cruising potential. The vessel also comes with a comprehensive inventory of spare parts, tools and cruising gear.
Having reached French Polynesia in 2021, Cheesy has since continued exploring the Pacific and is now located in Fiji, one of the world 27s premier cruising grounds. She also comes with a selection of onboard 22toys 22 including fishing gear, speargun, bodyboard and inflatable SUP, ready for immediate adventure.
With her solid pedigree, proven cruising history and practical upgrades for shorthanded sailing, Cheesy presents an excellent opportunity for buyers seeking a capable and well-prepared offshore yacht.
