Angelsey is a 2008 Beneteau Oceanis 40. Designed by Berret Racoupeau and built by Beneteau, the Oceanis 40 has long been a benchmark cruising yacht, prized for her easily managed rig, comfortable motion under sail, and genuinely spacious accommodation for her length. With the cockpit feeling larger than your average 40ft cruiser.
Angelsey has had a recent refresh done of some major components on the boat to keep her up to date. In May 2026 she received a full antifoul, propspeed, along with an engine and saildrive service and a new cutlass bearing. All seacocks were replaced in 2026 with Tru Design composite fittings, and the house battery bank was renewed in July 2026 with two new 160Ah batteries (320Ah total, plus a separate engine start battery). A new bimini and spray dodger were also fitted in 2026.
Below, Angelsey offers a practical three double-cabin layout with berths for six, plus two further berths in the saloon due to the drop-down saloon table. Both heads have hot and cold showers, with an enclosed shower in the aft head which is a very practical use of the space. Navigation is equipped with an updated Raymarine AXIOM+ 9 RV chartplotter.
These are such versatile cruising boats and can really fit into a variety of plans. It works for families due to the space in the cockpit and down below while at the same time it can be perfect for a couple sailing around due to the ease of handling of a boat this size whether that is in marinas or out at sea. Whatever the plan, this is a boat built to keep up with it.
