Overview
About this vessel
Launched in 2009 by Australian shipyard S.E. Ward & Co and designed by Dubois Naval Architects with interiors by Rhoades Young Design, the 29.1-metre sailing yacht Thila blends performance with luxury. Commissioned by an experienced Olympic sailor, her aluminium hull and superstructure underpin a sleek, stylish profile suitable for both dynamic sailing and comfortable cruising.
Having undergone professional operation and meticulous maintenance since her inception, Thila has been maintained in pristine condition. Noteworthy modifications include a fully moulded bowsprit extension installed in 2016, specifically designed to accommodate one of her two impressive gennakers which were delivered in 2025.
In 2022, Thila underwent an extensive refit program that included the installation of new generators, sails, and a comprehensive rig service. Following her acquisition in 2024, Thila was extensively optimised and upgraded over the Winter of 2024/2025, with a significant number of technical and cosmetic upgrades. This included technical upgrades such as the installation of dual Starlink Satellite receivers, in addition to a full interior and engineering refit. This meticulous attention to upgrades and maintenance ensures that she is now presented in turn-key condition, ready to charm a new owner with her sleek design and top-notch performance.
Thila's exterior is designed with a family-friendly approach, offering a line-free cockpit lounge that serves as an ideal setting for dining and entertainment. This inviting space is shaded by a bimini and shielded from the breeze by a transparent screen forward, which can be extended to fully enclose the area for added comfort. The cockpit features two opposing U-shaped banks of seating around tables, creating a convivial atmosphere for socializing. The companionway is thoughtfully offset to the port side, enhancing the flow of movement within the space.
The aft deck of Thila provides ample sun lounging space, and its transom folds down, ingeniously creating a swim platform complete with a ladder for easy access to the water. This innovative design enhances the yacht's versatility, offering both relaxation and water activities. Furthermore, when at anchor, additional sun lounging space is available between the winches, providing a tranquil spot for guests to soak up the sun while enjoying the serenity of the open sea. A practical touch includes the foredeck stowage of a 445 Williams Jet tender during passages, showcasing the yacht's commitment to combining functionality with elegant design.
Thila's interior is a showcase of elegance and comfort, beginning with a raised saloon that offers breathtaking panoramic views through large picture windows. This elevated space creates a light-filled and open atmosphere, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the surrounding beauty of the sea. The saloon features a formal dining area to port, providing an intimate setting for delightful meals, while seating to starboard adds to the overall sense of luxury and sophistication.
Descending steps from the raised saloon leads to a spacious second saloon, where guests can unwind and relax in style. To port, a TV lounge creates a cozy entertainment area, perfect for enjoying movies or catching up on the latest news. On the starboard side, additional seating complements the layout, allowing for versatile and comfortable social spaces. Large hull ports provide stunning views of the maritime surroundings, connecting the interior with the ever-changing scenery outside.
Thila graciously accommodates six guests in three thoughtfully designed cabins, ensuring a comfortable and intimate stay on board. The owner's suite, located aft and spanning the full beam of the yacht, epitomizes luxury with its spacious layout. Within this opulent sanctuary, guests are treated to a seating area to port, situated aft of the marble bathroom equipped with a shower, a vanity table, and ample storage space. The owner's suite is a private haven where every detail contributes to a sense of refined comfort.
Adjacent to the owner's suite, there is a twin cabin to port and a double cabin to starboard, both featuring en-suite facilities for added convenience. Additionally, each cabin is equipped with a pipe cot, providing flexibility for accommodating additional guests if needed. In addition to the guest cabins, Thila is well-appointed to host a dedicated crew, with accommodations for up to four crew members.
