Botin Carkeek GP42 Ambition
Overview
About this vessel
Ambition offers a rare opportunity to acquire a fully optimised, offshore ready, championship winning GP42 perfect for those seeking blistering performance, competitive IRC results, and a yacht capable of racing at the sharp end of any fleet. She also stands out as a perfect option for the 2027 Admirals Cup, with the pedigree, optimisation, and reliability required for top level international competition.
Purchased in March 2025 and renamed Ambition, she is now under the ownership of an experienced Grand Prix yachtsman (including previous TP52 ownership). The yacht is currently being professionally prepared for the 80th Rolex Sydney Hobart Race (2025), with no expense spared and continual improvements already underway.
Originally built for the 2009 Audi MedCup as GP42 Madrid-Caser Endesa, Ambition represents the pinnacle of GP42 design evolution, taking direct inspiration from the ETNZ TP52 hull form. As one of the final GP42s constructed, she immediately demonstrated her pedigree winning the 2010 MedCup Championship, with her sistership (now Callisto) finishing second.
In 2014 she moved to the UK and became Tokoloshe, undergoing an extensive, methodical optimisation program for IRC. She excelled in both inshore and offshore formats, and as the FAST40+ class emerged, continual development propelled her into the top echelon of IRC performers worldwide.
At the end of 2020 she was imported into Australia and renamed Enterprise Next Gen, where she received a major offshore upgrade to achieve Category 1 for Sydney Hobart competition. Her offshore credentials were confirmed immediately winning her class in the 2021 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and finishing 7th overall, just behind the TP52s that occupied the top six positions.
